Message to members of the Swansea Labour Party

The level of support for Welsh independence within the Labour Party in Wales is estimated to be nearly half the membership.
In Plaid Cymru, we understand why this is so - like us, you're fed up with being" governed " by the Tories for two thirds of the time.
You might think that a Labour government in Wales is satisfactory (remember we have a good deal for the people of Wales with you), but surely you can aspire to improve on "satisfactory ". By improving the lives of our people, an independent Wales would change "satisfactory" to "excellent".
But there's a problem. And the problem is your party.
Including Keir Starmer, no Labour Prime minister will ever entertain even small moves towards Welsh independence. BECAUSE WITHOUT WALES SENDING LOADS OF LABOUR MPs, YOU WILL NEVER TAKE CONTROL IN WESTMINSTER.
Independence is the direct route to a progressive left of centre Government in Wales, enabling us to use the full levers of power for the benefit of our people - and not the wealthy of SE England.
